A big congratulations to the Feltham and Bedfont PCN team who recently won the National BAME Health and Care Award for their amazing work for communities across Hounslow.

In 2022, the Feltham and Bedfont Primary Care Network (PCN) initiated a mobile clinic program, initially focused on administering Covid-19 vaccinations, with a primary emphasis on reaching out to underserved BAME patient demographics. This mobile vaccination initiative proved to be highly successful, administering nearly 3,000 vaccinations. Moreover, an assessment of the program revealed that individuals from the BAME community who had low COVID vaccination rates were also less likely to access regular primary healthcare services.

The mobile clinics laid the foundation for what has now evolved into the Healthy Hounslow Community NHS Health Check service, which was officially launched in April 2023.
